Catch 22 is a Sea Fox 248 Commander powered by the ultra-reliable Yamaha 250 Four Stroke outboard motor. she is capable of reaching upwards of 50 MPH! With a 113-gallon fuel tank, distance or range will never be a limitation on your charters.
She is also equipped on the bow with a 36v, 112lb thrust Minn Kota Terrova iPilot Trolling Motor. This one piece of equipment guarantees that we stay on the spot so we can maximize our fishing. The Catch 22 is also equipped with dual Simrad 12” Evo 3 for superior navigation accuracy and vivid sonar readings.

Captain John is active-duty Air Force who has a Passion for fishing. When he's not fulfilling his Air Force duties you can almost always find him on the water.
When he's not on the water, he spends his time studying
learning new techniques, researching the latest and greatest equipment, and spending time with his incredible wife, 4 dogs and 2 cats.
Captain John is USCG certified and is also certified in CPR and first aid. His number one priority is to give his customers the safest, most enjoyable experience they'll never forget.

Deckhand Ty
Ty is Captain John's brother and a well-known mechanic and Wiggins operator at Two Georges Marina where we dock.
When he's not on the water, he spends his time studying Mercury or Yamaha engines, eating or taking a nap.

Definitely know where the fishing spots are and how to catch them. Caught a variety of fish including Scamp, trigger, black fin tuna, mingo, amber jack, red snapper, mangrove, mackerel, Bonita, shark and even an eel! Some that weren’t regulation but still fun to catch and see! As a bonus got to weigh in at the Destin Rodeo and get on the board! Hands down recommend Catch 22 Charters! "We got a nice one as the 1st fish!"
I want to start this review that John has zero control over wind OR water...he is definitely not a water or wind bender. I mean, the dance he performed to change the weather conditions (as entertaining as it was) did not change anything!!
On a serious note, before the charter, I told John that I had some bucket list fish I would like to catch. One being an Amberjack. We got a nice one as the 1st fish! And it was awesome! We did catch another Spanish Makrel and a Mingo that were keeper. Some red snapper and trigger fish that were too small. With the wind, waves and threat of severe weather, John made decisions to keep us on fish and be safe at the same time. Coming back from fishing, John was able to navigate the weather conditions to give us a safe and as smooth ride as possible (the waves were about 6 to 8 footers). I will absolutely book Catch 22 again and encourage anyone to do the same! Great trip John!! - Christopher
"Father's Day Trip - Great Memories!"
We booked a trip with Captain John @ Catch 22 Charters. It was a fathers day trip and my son and I made great memories as the competition quickly got underway once my son was 2 up on me. I have been fishing a long time and I been on a few boats in my day... hands down Captain John is one of the best! On a day where the water was rough and the bite was slow Captain John maximized the fishing when the bite happened. Trying multiple methods to keep the action going. We caught multiple species, a few trout, some reds and even managed a nice catfish.

Cancellations more than 1 day prior to the trip will be refunded in full. Cancellations less than 1 days prior to the confirmed trip date will forfeit your deposit at the discretion of Catch 22 Fishing Charters.
